How Mr Games Play uses your information. Last updated 22 August 2026.

Who we are

Mr Games Ltd (“we”) runs Mr Games Play at play.mrgamesltd.co.uk and play.mrgamesltd.com. Company address: 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, United Kingdom, EC2A 4NE. Email: enquiries@mrgamesltd.co.uk.

This notice covers Mr Games Play — hosting, joining, unlocking packs, and playing in a room. Buying a box or paying online is the shop at www.mrgamesltd.co.uk. That site has its own shop privacy policy.

What we collect

If you only join a room you do not create an account. We store the nickname you type, that you confirmed you are 18 or over, a join token on this device, and what you do in that room (for example answers and whether you are still connected).

If you host or redeem a code you create an account. We store your email address, a password held by our auth provider (we do not see the plain password), that you confirmed you are 18 or over, which games and packs your codes unlocked, rooms you host, and sign-in session data so you stay logged in on one device at a time.

Phones also send ordinary technical details when they talk to the site (for example IP address, browser type, and timestamps in server logs). We use these to run and secure the service, not to advertise to you.

Why we use it

  • To run the game you asked for — unlock packs, host, join, play.
  • To keep a host signed in, and to stop the same account being used on two devices at once.
  • To enforce age confirmation (Play is for adults; some titles are 18+).
  • To fix problems, prevent abuse, and keep rooms working on pub wifi.

We rely on performing the service you request, and on our legitimate interests in running a secure party-game product. We do not sell your information, and Play does not run advertising or analytics pixels.

Cookies and what stays on your phone

Mr Games Play uses cookies that are needed for the site to work: sign-in cookies from our auth provider, and a session cookie so only one device stays signed in. Turning those off will sign you out.

This device may also keep a room join token (so you can refresh mid-game), questions you save in The Waffler, and whether you dismissed the “save to home screen” hint. Those stay on the phone unless you clear site data.

You can add Mr Games Play to your home screen. That uses the same site; we do not get extra personal data from the icon itself. The small service worker is only there so some phones offer install — it does not store game data for offline play.

Who we share it with

We host Mr Games Play on Render and store accounts, rooms, and pack unlocks with Supabase. They process data on our instructions so the product can run. They may handle data in the UK, the EEA, or other countries where they operate.

People in your room see what the game needs them to see — nicknames, that you answered, scores when the rules show them, and (after a trivia reveal) who picked what. They do not get your email.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the service and other players.

How long we keep it

Live rooms are short-lived. A room expires a few hours after the last activity. Account details and unlocks stay until you ask us to delete the account (or we close it for abuse). Server logs are kept only as long as we need them to run and secure the site.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email enquiries@mrgamesltd.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Mr Games Play is not for anyone under 18. Do not create an account or join a room if you are under 18.

Changes

We may update this notice when Mr Games Play changes. The date at the top is the latest version. Keep using Mr Games Play after a change means you are using it under the updated notice.
